Main duties of the job
This role is for a Middle Grade Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. It is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with a 1:14 middle grade rota covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The role includes:
* Gynaecology theatre sessions
* Specialist Gynaecological clinics
* Participation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergency care
* To participate in the department’s teaching, audit, and educational activities
* Day to day running of the emergency Gynaecology, labour ward, obstetric wards, antenatal clinics

Essential criteria
* Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
* MRCOG part 2 or qualification of an equivalent level

* Demonstrate an interest in, commitment to and have broad experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
* Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems
* Recognition of and ability to undertake the initial management of an acutely ill patient.
* Demonstrate aptitude for practical skills e.g., handeye co-ordination, dexterity, visuospatial awareness

* Up to date and fit to practice safely and aware of own training needs.
* Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation

* Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors

* Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
