Job Description:
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced part-time Band Senior Mental Health (MH) Practitioner to join our Ely Older People’s Community Mental Health Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a client group with complex mental health needs within a supportive team environment.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including Mental Health Practitioners, CPNs, Psychologists, a Consultant Psychiatrist, and Support Workers to ensure coordinated care.
Our services focus on evidence-based, user-centered interventions for individuals aged 65 and over living at home or in care homes, with either functional or organic mental health conditions. We emphasize high-quality assessment, treatment, and care coordination aligned with professional standards and national policies.
This position provides opportunities for skill development through training, collaboration with experienced practitioners, and involvement in service improvement initiatives.
The primary service area is Ely and surrounding villages, with potential coverage of other Cambridge areas as needed, requiring regular travel. Applicants must have a valid UK driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
The role is based at Princess of Wales Hospital. We support flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance. The hospital offers free parking and onsite amenities.
Main Duties:
* Manage a caseload of service users, delivering clinical interventions including therapeutic and recovery-based approaches.
* Empower service users and carers to participate actively in recovery, working with third sector organizations.
* Travel independently across the county, meeting strict deadlines, using a personal vehicle.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
Applicants must meet the specified criteria, including holding a full UK driving license and having access to a vehicle, as public transport is not considered reliable for this role.
