I’m 20 years old and I have Autism and ADHD. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and going to the cinema to watch the latest movies. I’m a fan of listening to Yungblud and really enjoy his music, and I’m excited to be seeing him live next year. I have a pet dog called Monty, and I enjoy taking him for walks around where I live. I also really enjoy doing creative things like drawing, painting, and diamond art — they help me relax and have fun. I enjoy visiting museums and learning about history, especially the 1950s and Victorian era, including how people lived, their clothes, and music. I also like learning new crafts and trying out different creative activities whenever I get the chance. I struggle with confidence and spend most of my time at home, in the company of my Mum, Dad and sister, I am looking for someone to help me access fun activities with and help develop my confidence and bring me out of myself. I’d also like to take an arts class – such as pottery and to go on trips out possibly shopping in a new town or maybe going to see a film or visiting a museum. I would need help organising these trips, including planning public transport for them. The PA role would basically fall into 5 areas: 1. Planning fun activities (including planning of the required public transport) 2. Being my eyes and ears when out in the world, reading my anxiety and helping reduce my stress when there is a build up. 3. Being my liaison with bus drivers, café staff, activity staff etc. to help me communicate (as I'm neurodiverse) 4. Helping and assisting me at the activity. 5. Helping me build strategies to manage these situations for myself so they get better over time and are less stressful for me, and I can learn to handle these on my own.
