We seek a talented Principal Civil Engineer to manage and deliver challenging design projects and to build and lead a new team of design engineers.

Responsibilities
* Oversee and deliver high‑profile projects and developments.
* Lead a newly established team of civil engineering professionals and mentor their CPD.
* Oversee all aspects of the design process, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementation.
* Manage a range of infrastructure and non‑infrastructure design projects.
* Establish professional relations with clients and stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
* Prepare, check, and submit reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements and other technical documents.
* Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring colleagues adhere to best practice.
* Uphold health and safety standards at all times.
* Contribute to business development strategies as a trusted company representative.
Required Skills and Experience
* UK Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering, hydrology or a related discipline.
* Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
* Extensive experience working in a UK consultancy in a design capacity.
* Experience with water‑based non‑infrastructure projects (reservoirs, water treatment plants etc.).
* Experience of detailed drainage and civil engineering design.
* Proficiency with software packages including Revit, AutoCAD etc.
* Experience writing, checking and amending technical documents.
* Prior experience managing projects and people.
* Experience managing client and stakeholder relations.
* Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full, valid UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* UK Master’s degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering, hydrology or a related discipline.
* Experience authoring flood risk assessments.
* Experience with sustainable drainage design (SuDS).
* Experience in a public‑facing role.
