Teacher of Maths Location: York, North Yorkshire Salary: MPS/UPS: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum Start Date: September 2024 GSL Education is seeking a qualified Maths Teacher to work at a Client Secondary School in North Yorkshire, located 13 miles north of York, starting in September 2024. About the School: A community Secondary School graded as Good by Ofsted in quality of education and personal development this year. Believes in ‘Aspiration for all’, meaning that their students are at the heart of their decision making. Provides students with an engaging and inspiring curriculum, where high quality teaching ensures that students are motivated to learn. At Key Stage 5, the school collaborates with another School, where many of their students go on to University with others securing Apprenticeships or employment. The school works hard to make sure that every student graduates with the knowledge and self-assurance necessary to actively participate in their communities and the credentials required to access the next stage of their education. Teacher of Maths Responsibilities: Planning and delivering Maths lessons to students based on their individual needs and the curriculum requirements. Encouraging active student participation, fostering critical thinking, and promoting problem-solving skills. Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Follow the ethos and policies of the school, promoting positive behaviour throughout the school. Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources that enhance the learning experience. Take part in staff training days, staff meetings and parent’s evenings. Teacher of Maths Requirements: Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Maths or STEM Degree. Have recent experience teaching Maths to an education setting. Be able to provide 2 professional references, relating to your teaching within the last 2 years (placements will be accepted for ECTs). Be a passionate educator of young pupils with the ability to differentiate tasks for differing levels. You must have an enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
