About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support the effective delivery of an asset management strategy through the collection, analysis, and utilisation of stock condition data.This role plays a key part in ensuring property assets are maintained to a high standard, supporting both short and long-term investment planning. You will carry out a variety of surveys, including Stock Condition Surveys and Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments, across a diverse property portfolio.Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct surveys across a range of assets including:Occupied and void residential propertiesGarages,munal areas, and public spaces
2. Undertake stock condition surveys, HHSRS assessments, and related audits
3. Accurately record survey data using handheld technology and asset management systems
4. Deliver survey programmes to agreed targets and report progress regularly
5. Produce schedules of work and monitorpletion
6. Support the development and delivery of planned programmes based on survey data
7. Assist in preparing schedules for repairs, renewals, and improvements
8. Analyse data and prepare rmendations, feasibility studies, and reports on major defects or redevelopment opportunities.
9. Contribute to the development and improvement of asset management systems and processes
10. Provide technical advice to internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
11. Identify and report defects, risks, and tenancy-related issues affecting property condition or resident wellbeing
12. Support stakeholder engagement, including working with residents and attending meetings
RequirementsEssential
13. HNC/HND/Degree in Building Construction or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience
14. Proven experience carrying out stock condition and HHSRS surveys
15. Strong background in inspecting buildings and diagnosing defects in a variety of construction types
16. Knowledge of building pathology including damp and structural issues
17. Understanding of Decent Homes Standards
18. Knowledge of health & safety and relevant legislation
19. Experience managing contractors andmissioned work
20. Strong IT skills including use of asset management systems and MS Office
21. Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and solve problems effectively
22. Excellentmunication and report-writing skills
Desirable
23. Knowledge of statutory requirements such as planning, building control, and listed buildings
24. Awareness of asbestos regulations
Additional Requirements
25. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
26. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
27. Willingness to work occasionally outside normal working hours
28. Ability to travel across the operational area
