Overview
An exciting part-time Clinical Studies Officer (CSO) role to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will support delivery of commercial and non-commercial NIHR portfolio research studies across a range of specialties, identify, recruit and support patients through the research process, and provide support to study teams and clinicians carrying out research. The CSO will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS. The post is advertised as part-time for 12 months and will be based at the Lantern Centre, Preston; the post holder will be an agile worker and is expected to work across Lancashire.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of NIHR portfolio research studies (commercial and non-commercial) across a range of specialties.
* Identify, recruit and support patients through the research process.
* Provide information and education on research projects to interested parties.
* Support study teams and clinicians carrying out research and promote research within the NHS community.
Qualifications and Skills
* Professional qualification or degree-level education in a relevant health care subject.
* At least 2 years’ experience of working in a health care, social or NHS organisation.
* Demonstrable knowledge of research design and methods.
* Ability to travel around Lancashire independently and regularly, and build effective working relationships with the wider R&D team, NIHR clinical research networks and clinical service staff.
* Willingness to work directly with service users across the Trust, including in the community.
