We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Lab Manager to join the group of Dr Adam Wilkinson. The Wilkinson Group has recently relocated from the University of Oxford to the University of Cambridge's Department of Haematology and Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, where the role will be based. Our research focuses on expanding and manipulating haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) ex vivo, pioneering influential methods to expand transplantable HSCs long-term ex vivo (Wilkinson et al, Nature, 2019; Igarashi et al, Blood Advances, 2023; Sakurai et al, Nature, 2023; Bozhilov et al., bioRxiv 2024), now used worldwide. Our group has significant funding from the Wellcome Trust and Krishnan-Ang Foundation.
The Lab Manager will oversee daily management and organization of the Wilkinson laboratory and contribute to ongoing research projects. Responsibilities include laboratory organization, processing human blood samples, and managing mouse colonies. This is a full-time Grade 7 position, with flexible working options available.
Requirements include a degree in biological sciences (B.Sc or equivalent), strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, and an interest in haematology and stem cell biology is desirable.
