Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Pathology Partnership, at Rotherham Hospital for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join the mortuary service as a Band 6 Anatomical Pathology Technician on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will join the small but busy team in a service that conducts over 100 coronial post mortems per year. The role is to provide a compassionate and high quality mortuary service in conformance with relevant legislation, HTA code of practice and guidance. Advert The post-holder is responsible for assisting in the provision of the Rotherham Hospital mortuary service, and supporting region wide if required. Individuals should be motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well organised and hold the Certificate & Diploma in Anatomical Pathology technology or Level 3 Diploma. Work in this area requires frequent exposure to highly distressing and emotive situations in addition to periods of intense physical activity with the need to maintain concentration for long periods. Attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality with a caring attitude and the ability to organise and prioritise work is required. There is the need to occasionally work under very challenging circumstances. The post-holder will ensure that documentation and records are accurate and kept securely and will carry out duties to support the efficient running of the mortuary and keep up to date with HTA and UKAS related issues.
