Income Officer Salary£36,054per annum 37 hours Monday to Friday Birmingham Following a restructure of our Community Housing Service we are creating a new Income Officer post. We are looking for someone willing to commit to the position and the ever-changing landscape of housing management. We are building a new,strong teamand we want you to work collaboratively with our Community and Private Sector Housing Teams to deliver a seamless service to our customers. As an Income Officer you will take responsibility for a patch of customer accounts with multiple tenure types, working towards positive financial outcomes. You will join a high performing income management team and will support customers to manage their rent and service charge accounts,identifywhere support is needed and refer as appropriatein order tohelp them to sustain their tenancies. You will manage a caseload where legal interventions arerequired, so you will have a good working relationship with several of our internal and external partners in getting a positive resolution to cases as well as good working knowledge of housing and anti-social behaviour legislation. As an Income Officer you will: be willing to work in multiple locations across our geography including customers homes proactively work to understand the needs of customers and the safeguarding and vulnerabilities that may arise whilst delivering the job have experience of management of rent and service charges with extensive experience of legal remedies to include social, shared ownership, Rent to Buy, Leaseholders, HMOs, Market Rent tenure types have a minimum 12monthsexperience working within a social housing environment have experience of representation in the county court for possession hearings, moneyclaimsand forfeiture proceedings work closely with customers to develop strong relationships and create positive and collaborative relationships with key agencies and internal teams. havestrong communicationskills and be able to engage clearly and confidently with customers and stakeholders. be target-oriented, motivated by achieving results and performanceobjectives. be independent and resourceful, able to work autonomously and solve problems effectively, using tenacity, a fair but firm approach, and empathy. need the confidence to make sound decisions, manage challenging conversations, and support customers to improve their financial wellbeing. have a good knowledge of the law relating to housing legislation.
