In this role you will also have the opportunity to lead, manage and support a growing team of 2 planners, providing day-to-day supervision, coaching and performance management.

The Role

Own the Frontline

Drive Strategic Planning

: Control and allocate projects using our central tools (including Alpha Tracker), ensuring the right people are on the right jobs at the right time.

Improve & Evolve

: Audit processes, update ISO procedures, and train the team to operate to the highest standards – ensuring coverage, communication, and compliance.

Communicate with Impact

: Attend weekly Ops meetings, lead daily team meets, and deliver insightful monthly performance reports for senior leadership.

Support Performance & Profitability

: Monitor utilisation, investigate project issues, drive income recovery via variations, and support planners in commercial and operational decision-making.

Lead & Inspire

: Manage, coach, and develop a small, high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

Champion Collaboration

: Act as the key link between Resource and Project Managers, Sales, HR, and Site Staff to deliver smooth, efficient project execution.

What You'll Be Doing

* Setting up mobilisation meetings, program creation and liaising with customers
* Booking jobs onto the system
* Keeping strong communication with our surveyors to ensure smooth delivery of all jobs
* Efficient closing down of all projects, ensuring all report delivery & billing is completed correctly
* Provide outstanding customer service to each client via excellent communication and regular update meetings
* Discuss any potential operational issues and resolve them before they become an escalation whilst also discussing the positives and how we continue to deliver to a high standard
* Build strong relationships with all relevant key stakeholders across assigned clients.
* Create and maintain excellent relationships with site staff and colleagues in all departments of AEC, communicating regularly on client expectations, project updates & operational issues.
* Take ownership of any issues, provide effective solutions and preventative measures to ensure they do not occur again
* Updating processes / protocols and communicating these effectively alongside the Operations Manager.
* Produce reports on planning performance, work volumes and team productivity
* Act as a point of escalation for complex scheduling issues
* Complete commercial review of projects alongside the relevant project managers to ensure all projects run efficiently and are cost effective.

What We're Looking For

This role would be ideal for someone who has previously had leadership experience within a resource team before, or an experienced Resource Planner looking to take a step forward in their career. This role will suit an organised individual who can manage their time & structure their day well and is a strong multi-tasker. The ideal candidate would need to be confident in their verbal & written communication as they will be liaising with key stakeholders for our key clients as well as other managers within departments of AEC.

* A clear understanding of project workflows and workforce planning in a high-volume, service-driven environment.
* Manage change, and hold people to account — while remaining approachable and team-focused.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A proactive mindset – always anticipating, resolving, and improving.
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with planning tools or platforms (training will be given for Alpha Tracker).
