Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum DOE
Air Bearings UK is a specialist engineering company renowned for precision, innovation and high-performance solutions, and we are now looking for a talented individual to join our growing team.
As an integral part of the assembly team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely build and test of air bearing components.
Key Responsibilities
* To safely use all materials, processes and tools in the build and test of air bearing components. This will include the building of sub-assemblies and complete units along with the testing of complete products using various test equipment. You will work from drawings and process control documents, in accordance with production schedules and other agreed timescales.
* Ensure that you raise to your team-leader in a timely manner any tooling/resources/materials and/or process issues that may impact on your principal accountabilities.
* Ensuring you raise any training and development needs to your direct supervisor to support your needs of the role.
* To help within Final Test area when required.
Health and Safety:
* To ensure that all work carried out complies with health and safety requirements as laid down by the company and by external bodies.
* Ensure you have read and understood the company Health & Safety Policy and procedures are implemented to ensure everyone's safety.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment by ensuring the workplace is consistent with the company's health and safety policy
* Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures i.e. Fire drills.
* To recognize all accidents, injuries and near-misses that may occur must be recorded in the accident book.
Experience and Qualifications required
* Experience of working in the same or similar role/level is essential although training will be given with regards to our products
* An understanding of reading manufacturing drawings (desirable)
* Basic computer literacy for data entry
* Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels.
* Self motivation and motivation of others.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and willingness to take on a variety of tasks, new methods and procedures.
* Ability to work collaboratively with others.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.

* Able to work to high dexterity manual work is essential
The post holder will be expected to visit other ABL sites.
There may be an occasional requirement to travel.
This role involves being on your feet for periods of time and moving around the site as part of day-to-day responsibilities. There will be regular use of hands and arms when carrying out tasks, and occasional lifting or moving of items in line with safe working practices.
Good visual awareness is important, including the ability to focus on detail, maintain awareness of surroundings, and adjust focus when required.
A good level of hand–eye coordination is also beneficial to support the practical aspects of the role.
