Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Site Technician based in Hemel Hempstead. The Site Technician will be responsible for conducting surveys, inspections, and tests on construction materials and structures. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting issues, preparing detailed reports, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with clients to provide technical support. Ensuring accurate data collection and delivery of high-quality results is a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting our engineers in performing routine testing, inspections, and surveying of structures
* Working on a range of different projects
* Using your initiative to solve challenges encountered on site
* Working in a range of locations (construction sites, offices etc.)
* Maintaining testing equipment and tools
* Transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites
* Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of job sites
* Responsible for undertaking intrusive testing and sampling works, operating field equipment, and performing physically demanding tasks
* Investigations include, but are not limited to: locally breaking out concrete, extracting concrete core samples/diamond drilling, collecting dust samples, brick and mortar samples, steel samples and other possible sample types, general site labor
Qualifications
* Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
* Proven experience in Troubleshooting and providing Technical Support
* Exceptional Analytical Skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
* Attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, precise reports
* Knowledge of building durability practices, materials, or related technical expertise is advantageous
* Ability to work independently and within a team in an on-site setting
* A relevant qualification in engineering, surveying, or a related field is preferred
