The Lodge Manager is a visible leader within the College community, responsible for delivering an exceptional front‑of‑house service that reflects the reputation, values, and standards of the College.
Role Overview
As the first point of contact for students, staff, alumni, and visitors, the Lodge Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the College’s first and lasting impression, ensuring it is professional, welcoming, and secure. This role combines leadership, operational oversight, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Lodge team in providing outstanding reception, security, emergency response and guest services.
* Ensure the Lodge operates to the highest standards of efficiency, safety and hospitality at all times.
* Manage front‑office operations with a track record of problem‑solving and making things happen.
* Maintain team presentation standards and demonstrate a passion for quality customer service.
Qualifications & Competencies
* Previous management experience with responsibility for a team.
* Calm, able to deal confidently with emergency or challenging situations.
* Energetic and good humoured, with a passion for quality service.
* Proven track record of problem‑solving and making things happen.
* Experience in a front‑line customer related situation.
* Conversational level of spoken English.
* Excellence in own and team’s presentation: attention to detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
* Computer literacy: intermediate level Word, Excel, Outlook and knowledge of booking systems.
* Self‑motivated and able to take decisions after consideration of options.
* Able to successfully balance formality and informality and possess the ability to communicate clearly and deal confidently with a diverse range of people.
* Team‑working skills and a willingness to support and assist colleagues when required, including a flexible approach to work and duties and ability to change working hours if required to cover for colleagues.
