Overview
Our award-winning Mission Systems Team deliver some of the world's most advanced aviation IT systems from our office in Lincoln. We are expanding and offering a Systems Engineering opportunity to support the development and delivery of bespoke IT products. The team has transitioned to an Agile working methodology to develop electronic mapping and mission support products, and requires additional experienced Systems Engineers. As a Systems Engineer (IT Configuration and Build), you will support the product development cycle as part of a multi-disciplined Scrum team, ensuring Systems Engineering aspects of development, including hardware configuration testing, are performed to high standards, along with the configuration and build of project-specific test and production systems to support the Chief Engineer in developing and producing release documentation.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to systems engineering aspects of Company-designed electronic mapping, mission support and electronic flight bag products, including configuration and build of test and delivery systems.
* Define system configurations and build scripts.
* Test systems to ensure correct configuration and build.
* Maintain and evolve configuration and build processes.
* Review the work of others to ensure quality.
* Undertake related project activities.
The role is expected to grow with experience. Further development of the role is possible. This role is based in the Company Offices in Lincoln; remote working is available where tasking allows. Applicants should assume that they may be required to work in the office full-time most weeks.
Requirements

You should be prepared to assume a comprehensive range of responsibilities, be capable of working with minimum supervision, contribute your own ideas, and adopt a flexible, constructive and timely approach to meeting the needs of the business. You should have an inquisitive/analytical mind, be able to research issues independently, and propose pragmatic, business-focused solutions. We are seeking candidates with a desire to develop professionally within our growing business.
* Evidence of essential capabilities:
* A methodical approach to work.
* Expert user of modern office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
* An understanding of modern operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Android).
* An understanding of the principles of configuration control.
* Familiarity with Windows Deployment Services and maintaining configuration scripts.
* A demonstrable understanding of Mobile Device Management principles and MDM tools.
* Evidence of desirable capabilities:
* Familiarity with Systems and Software Engineering Lifecycles, interface and integration.
* Working knowledge of Requirements, Architecture and Verification.
* Experience in using Configuration Management tools.
* Knowledge of the development of systems for safety-related systems (RTCA/DO-178C, DO-200B, DO-254, IEC61508, etc.).
* Evidence of highly desirable capabilities:
* Expert in the use of Windows Deployment Services.
* Expert in Mobile Device Management.
* Expert in deployment to Android.
* Experience of DevOps.
Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting, which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
