Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santanders global division that supports some of the worlds most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customised services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.

In this challenging role within the SCIB Financial Crime team, you’ll support the Global Head of FCC with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) policy advisory, including control design advisory and control effectiveness review. You’ll define milestones, tasks and deliverables, but will also work with global teams to help drive policy transposition and implementation.

You’ll also be responsible for complex KYC and transactional advisory and will be responsible for the coordination of the KYC escalations and management to the Banco Santander CIB branches and supporting complex customer escalations.

If you’ve performed a similar role previously, this could be the perfect opportunity to develop your career at the heart of the action.

The difference you’ll make:

* Delivering advice to stakeholders and ensuring policy and regulatory requirements (including issues management) are fully understood and met on an ongoing basis
* Supporting the implementation and maintenance of an effective Financial Crime risk framework and providing strategic direction on how it is managed
* Working with the First Line of Defence and other relevant stakeholders to identify, control and assess financial crime risk in areas including Markets, Global Transactional Banking and Private Side Advisory
* Driving operational adequacy and effectiveness of the Group AML Policy and Protocols and the KYC design and escalation requirements
* Assisting with the timely identification of opportunities to enhance the management and oversight of Financial Crime risk, ensuring appropriate action is taken by relevant parties to deliver improvements
* Developing and implementing strategies to broaden internal and external networks and keeping up to date with regulatory requirements and industry best practice

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

* Proven track record of working in in a similar role within a multi-national investment bank with global and regional exposure
* In-depth Financial Crime knowledge with proven leadership capabilities in a matrixed management structure
* Excellent understanding of the investment banking products and services including Markets, Trade Finance, Transactional banking and Capital Markets solutions
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to disseminate the same information in multiple different ways

It would also be nice for you to have:

* Advanced data skills to support Financial Crime investigations
* Industry recognised Financial Crime qualification such as ICA, ACAM or equivalent
* Change and project management skills

What else you need to know:

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 3 days a week (pro-rata for part-time roles).

If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.

If you’re interested in this role but with part time hours or a job-share we would still love to hear from you and discuss these.

* Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
* We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
* 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
* Company funded individual private medical insurance.
* Voluntary healthcare benefits at discounted rates such as private medical insurance for your family, dental insurance, and health assessments.
