Salary: £46,148 – £52,809 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a meaningful part-time opportunity in a strategic finance role? We’re recruiting a Support Accountant to join a high-performing financial management team, providing expert financial support across operational directorates during a maternity leave period.
🔍 About the Role
As Support Accountant, you’ll deliver insightful financial analysis, support budgetary control, and contribute to service development initiatives. You’ll collaborate with senior managers, clinicians, and budget holders to ensure robust financial governance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Producing regular income and expenditure reports for budget managers
2. Supporting the annual budget-setting process and efficiency savings plans
3. Assisting in the preparation of corporate financial reports and final accounts
4. Liaising with internal and external auditors
5. Providing expert analysis and commentary on financial performance
6. Deputising for the Divisional Accountant when required
📈 What You’ll Bring
Essential Criteria:
7. Full membership of a CCAB-recognised accounting body or CIMA
8. Minimum 2 years’ relevant finance experience at supervisory level
9. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data
10. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills or proficiency in other data analysis tools
11. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
12. A valid UK driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments considered)
Desirable Attributes:
13. Experience in health or social care finance
14. Proven ability to challenge and improve financial processes
15. Confidence in managing and motivating staff
