Job Description Summary Job Description Customer Care Apprentice 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Full-time (37.5 hours per week – including dedicated study time) Location: Edinburgh Salary: Our starting salary is £24,853 (or £12.75 per hour) Interview process: If successful, you'll be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in our Edinburgh office on Thursday 26 March 2026. The opportunity: Aegon is offering a Customer Care Apprenticeships which is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a customer service role in the financial services industry. What you’ll do: Engage with customers: Provide exceptional service to our customers via phone, email, and chat addressing their inquiries and helping to resolve their requests. Learn and Grow: Receive comprehensive training and development including industry-recognised qualification (SCQF level 6 - Customer Service in Financial Services) Collaborate: Work closely with your team and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience. What we’re looking for: National 5 English and National 4 Math A passion for customer service Good verbal and written communication skills A strong motivation to learn and develop What’s in it for you? A permanent job offer upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, on condition that you’re meeting expectations in the role too! Full support throughout your qualification. We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us). Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete a short series of interactive games. These are designed by our trusted partners, Arctic Shores, and aim to give us a better understanding of your skills, behaviours, and how you approach different situations. If you’re successful at this stage, you’ll be invited to a conversation with one of our Talent Acquisition Consultants. This chat will focus more on how you think and respond to various scenarios, rather than your experience.
