Job Summary
The successful candidate will join our busy team providing a Consultant Ophthalmology service for inpatients, day cases and outpatients, with continuing responsibility for the patients, their care and the effective running of the department. You will have specialist expertise in oculoplastic procedures and will contribute to the department’s transformation into a focused eye unit with emphasis on training and teaching.
Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive ophthalmology care to inpatients, day cases, and outpatients.
* Provide specialist oculoplastic services and perform relevant surgical procedures.
* Lead and develop the oculoplastic unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
* Support teaching and training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to department strategy and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Consultant level experience in Ophthalmology with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic.
* Strong clinical skills with demonstrated surgical proficiency.
* Excellent communication and teaching skills.
* Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care and quality improvement.
