Were looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join us and play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. In this role, youll plan and manage the maintenance schedule, supervise and support our engineering team, assist with installations and take an active role in projects and review current procedures and implement solutions to maximize output. The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 08.00am 4.30pm. Main Responsibilities: Organising the maintenance team to complete planned or unplanned maintenance and repairs with minimum downtime while also reporting to our maintenance manager. Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes. Maintain records of maintenance and repairs undertaken. Assist with the procurement and control of engineering materials and spares while liaising with the stores administrator to ensure that all critical spares are purchased and available. Liaise with operations, production and technical departments to ensure effective communication Liaise directly with machine suppliers to eliminate line running issues and implement machine improvements and upgrades. Ensure effective shop floor housekeeping and the maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with legislative Health & Safety requirements. Contribute to the implementation of new working methods and actively participate in continuous improvement Involvement with maintenance and repairs on a shift pattern and available to assist with breakdowns outside of working hours. Provide shift cover for holidays and absences when required Work with production to schedule and plan maintenance during the week and weekends. Schedule and manage weekend maintenance, ensuring all tasks are carried out effectively Act as a mentor to apprentices and junior team members, providing guidance and encouragement to support their development. Represent the company at careers fairs and industry events to promote opportunities and engage with potential candidates Work with production to introduce relevant procedures to reduce changeover time. Monitor levels of spare parts and ensure all items required are in stock or ordered in a timely manner Monitor and improve the health and safety culture within the department. Provide support for all sites as and when required Essential Criteria: Minimum time served in an Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship. Minimum of 5 years experience working in a food production environment in an engineering-based role. Experience in fault finding on PLC machinery Strong proficiency in using computer systems and software applications. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Results focused with ability to work on own initiative Available to work flexible hours as required at short notice. Current driving licence and own vehicle Desirable Criteria: HNC or HND in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering NEBOSH or IOSH qualification in Health & Safety Procurement experience Fault finding on electrical equipment Programming and diagnostics of PLCs and VSDs
