We’re Hiring: Rigger Improver

Navantia UK is looking for a safety-first, motivated individual to join our Methil Shipbuilding Yard as a Rigger Improver. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a career in rigging while gaining industry-recognised skills and certifications, supporting major operational projects.

What You’ll Do

• Learn and apply rigging techniques, lifting methods, and safe equipment use
• Support qualified riggers with lifting, moving, and positioning loads
• Assist with setup and dismantling of lifting operations
• Inspect and prepare rigging gear and lifting equipment
• Follow all health & safety procedures and use PPE correctly
• Communicate effectively within the team using signals/radio where required

What You’ll Bring

• A strong commitment to safety
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Physical fitness and readiness for outdoor/manual work
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial environments
• Familiarity with lifting equipment or tools
• Any relevant training (e.g., slinger, banksman, lifting awareness)
• Basic mechanical or technical aptitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced heavy fabrication environment.
• Reliable and proactive approach to work.
