Overview
Training as a respiratory physiologist at NUH. Perform basic respiratory and sleep clinical technical services under supervision while studying for a Diploma level qualification.
Qualifications
Minimum of a BSc at 2:1 in a healthcare related science. Must be employed in a lung function and sleep services department and already competent to perform some of the investigations listed below. Band 5 Annex 21 pay scale considered.
Responsibilities
* Perform respiratory investigations such as spirometry, lung volume and gas transfer measurements, and capillary blood gas collection and analysis.
* Deliver sleep service support, including CPAP issuance and ongoing CPAP review.
* Work in a direct patient‑facing role, using excellent communication, empathy and diplomacy to obtain maximal patient effort.
* Plan own work and meet agreed targets on an ongoing basis.
* Collaborate effectively within the team and may work across sites.
