Escape Recruitment are recruiting for a Stores & Purchasing Coordinator to join a growing manufacturing business.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining stores management, stock control, purchasing and expediting activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring materials and consumables are available to support production while maintaining accurate inventory records and efficient stores operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operation of the engineering stores
* Process goods inwards and goods outwards activities
* Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting and stock control activities
* Support production through effective materials management and production kitting
* Place purchase orders for MRO items, consumables, tools and PPE
* Expedite supplier deliveries and follow up on outstanding orders
* Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, lead times and delivery schedules
* Monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and support 5S initiatives
* Operate forklift trucks safely to move materials and goods around site
Experience and Knowledge required for the role:
* Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
* Experience in stores, inventory, materials or warehouse operations
* Exposure to purchasing, expediting or procurement support activities
* Strong stock control and cycle counting experience
* Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Comfortable using ERP, MRP or inventory management systems
* Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance) preferred
* Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
