Job Overview
An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and give information and appropriate support to families and carers. The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high‑quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team, specialist nursing teams and other health professionals. Additionally, the post holder will guide and direct the team on day‑to‑day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and support the line manager.
Main Duties of the Job
Provide a comprehensive, high‑quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, their medical team and specialist nursing teams, and other health professionals. Coordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate patient progression along a defined pathway. Maintain office organisation and monitor workload related to the administration team. Welsh speaking is desirable; English or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications and / or Knowledge
* NVQ Business Administration Level 3 or equivalent experience or City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3 Diploma in Medical Administration or equivalent medical secretary experience
* ILM Level 2 Team Leader, or willingness to work towards and achieve within 2 years, or relevant equivalent experience
* RSA / OCR Level 3 or equivalent experience or qualification in typing
* ECDL or equivalent experience
* Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications
* Evidence of Continuous Personal Development
Desirable Criteria
* Management qualification or working towards
* NVQ Level 3 Customer Service
* Knowledge of Referral To Treatment process (RTT)
