Overview
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership of a warm and welcoming early years setting. This nursery is passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education in a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
Responsibilities
* Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards, policies, and regulations.
* Lead by example to maintain a high standard of care and education across all age groups.
* Mentor, supervise, and inspire a team of early years practitioners, encouraging professional growth and teamwork.
* Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and carers, ensuring open communication and trust.
* Oversee the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring activities are engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
* Ensure the nursery provides a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment that prioritises children's wellbeing and safeguarding.
* Manage resources and nursery supplies effectively.
* Step into the Nursery Manager role when required, taking full responsibility for operations.
* Maintain accurate records on attendance, progress, and safeguarding.
Qualifications
* Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
* Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and childcare regulations.
* Proven experience working in an early years setting, within a leadership role (e.g., Room Leader, Deputy Nursery Manager or equivalent).
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in partnership with children, parents, and staff.
* Passion for creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating early years environment.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
