Asset Allocation Manager
Within the investments team, the Asset Allocation Manager (AAM) will be a senior member of the asset allocation team. The AAM will be responsible for carrying out Strategic Asset Allocation analysis on the existing portfolio and to appraise new asset classes, along with acting as a subject matter expert on inputting broader macro-economic input and thinking into the Investment Business Unit.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Production and ownership of macroeconomic analysis and asset class outlooks, including presentation of this to internal stakeholders
* Experience working with and running capital market assumption (CMA) setting processes, ensuring underlying assumptions are consistent and managing the governance framework
* Understanding of how to undertake Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) modelling, what is required, and how the outputs should be interpreted
* Ability to “tell the story” on fund performance in a succinct and intuitive way and explain the why behind the numbers
* Confidence in dealing with and presenting to senior internal stakeholders and at Board/C Suite level
* Ability to act as a “number 2” to the Head of Asset Allocation and deputise for Boards and internal meetings
What We’re Looking For
* 7-10 years’ experience working for an asset owner, manager or consulting background
* CFA and/or master’s degree
* Good SAA technical skills, including experience of using SAA modelling tools, understanding and interpretation of output and how to challenge/improve
* A self-starter who is keen to take ownership and responsibility for key items of work/deliverables
* Experience working with multiple deadlines and managing time in a structured manner
* Confident presenter who is comfortable discussing ideas with the wider team and at Board level meetings
