Senior Therapy Assistant: REACT
Band 3 – 18.75 hours. Join our friendly emergency care therapy team. The Rapid Emergency Assessment Care Team (REACT) aims to avoid hospital admission by providing comprehensive therapy assessments within the A&E department. Timely discharge assessments are also provided for patients on medical assessment and short stay wards. The service enables excellent interdisciplinary working across the team and relationships with medical, nursing and social care colleagues across the acute and community services. As part of the dynamic and enthusiastic team you will have opportunities to contribute to service development.
Opens for part‑time, permanent contract. A 7‑day service is delivered on a fixed four‑week repeating rota. The successful candidate will be required to work one weekend every four weeks.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the multidisciplinary team across A&E and short stay wards to prevent admission or facilitate early discharge as part of a 7‑day service.
* Assist therapy staff in delivering high‑quality interventions through the delivery of therapy without direct supervision or jointly with the therapist, in individual, group and multi‑disciplinary settings.
* Help develop and maintain therapy equipment and materials.
* Support operational delivery of services and contribute to service development.
* Carry out assessments, interventions and programmes under the direct supervision of a qualified clinician.
* Report progress of patients during the implementation of planned interventions and programmes.
* Ensure accurate, up‑to‑date clinical records are kept and submit clinical activity data as required.
* Maintain and manage equipment, including ordering, stock control and cleaning.
* Provide support, education and training to other staff, patients and carers.
* Support administrative and housekeeping duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience as a therapy assistant or similar role.
* Experience working within NHS services is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Abilities to work as part of a team.
* Compliance with all relevant professional, Trust and departmental standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Ongoing professional development, including participation in the Trust’s appraisal system and completion of mandatory training.

Information for Applicants
