We’re looking for a confident individual to join us as a Corporate Communications Officer on a fixed term contract (two-years) to provide cover for a career break. The ideal candidate will already have some experience in a communications role – preferably in emergency services or public sector, or will come from a journalism, PR, or related background – and will be ready for an opportunity to develop their skills. You’ll be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same and be able to work on your own initiative. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll be involved in a mixture of internal and external communications work such as liaising with the media and managing communications around operational policing matters on press desk; planning and developing campaigns; landing change projects with the workforce; and delivering news and content that highlights the work we do to safeguard our communities. Media law knowledge is a bonus but not a must. Where you have experience, you’ll hit the ground running. Training is provided for areas you are not as experienced, and you’ll become part of a friendly, passionate, and supportive team. When you’re ready, you’ll join the on-call rota, dealing with matters such as missing people and serious incidents outside office hours. Dyfed-Powys Police is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from candidates regardless of ethnic origin, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other irrelevant factor.
