HGV / LGV Plant Technician / Mechanic Starting Salary £40,000 depending on experience / probationary period. Job type - Full time, Shift schedule Monday - Friday, 07.30-17:00 and every 3rd Saturday 8-12. Our Client is a building supplies family run business with its workshop located at their Torquay branch. They provide high quality maintenance and repair of all fleet including plant vehicles. They work to an extremely high standard to ensure the delivery fleet is at it’s best. Requirements but application not subject to: Driving Licence / HGV Licence HGV Technician Qualification: A relevant qualification or apprenticeship in HGV maintenance and repair Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Technician/ Mechanic/ Fitter with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing heavy/ light goods vehicles. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, along with a solid understanding of vehicle systems. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Team player: Strong interpersonal and communication skill, with the ability to work effectively within a team. Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety protocols and practices. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing work demands. Responsibilities - As an HGV / Plant Technician / Mechanic / fitter you will be responsible for: Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance of HGV / LGV and Plant vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Diagnosis and repairs: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and accurately. Quality control: Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards, adhering to industry best practices and safety regulations. Documentation: Accurately documenting all work is performed, including parts used and hours worked, to maintain clear service records. Team collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues and other departments/ Branches to ensure a seamless workflow. Skills - Strong technical skills in welding. Knowledge of HGV / LGV and Plant vehicle systems and components. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Excellent problem solving and diagnostic abilities. Attention to detail and ability of work with precision. Strong communication skills to interact with team members.
