Portsmouth Water are looking for a Commissioning Engineer, with EICA experience, to support the consistent delivery of efficient engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.
This role oversees end‑to‑end commissioning, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards, and that projects are fully operational and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will provide technical input across feasibility and optioneering studies, design reviews, construction activities audits, and commissioning including handovers, while also acting as the contract supervisor for assigned projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and compliant water service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* End‑to‑end commissioning of multidisciplinary engineering solutions within utilities, power, or transportation sectors.
* Creation and continual development of commissioning processes and documentation.
* Expert understanding of control systems and asset integration.
* Comprehensive understanding of system integration software and network architecture/communications.
* Deliver to time, budget and required quality.
* Present complex and technical information to all levels of an organisation to obtain essential stakeholder buy‑in.
* Proactively manage and mitigate risk.
* Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities to navigate complex challenges effectively.
* Extensive knowledge of engineering technologies, system requirements, technical standards and understanding of latest developments in digital engineering technology and technical assurance.
* A HND or Degree in an engineering discipline and a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant field within water, utility or similar industry, or equivalent experience and qualifications.
