Main Purpose of Role
To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects. To act as the key, day-to-day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
Scope
Project Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project, typically within the £10m to £25m range. For advisory services, such as advising on urban re-generation funding, the overall project size may be larger.
Key Accountabilities
* Advising at a strategic level at project inception, including approaches to achieve client objectives
* Preparing and maintaining project requirement definitions
* Establishing success criteria including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters
* Implementing effective project governance, processes, and systems
* Preparing and maintaining project schedules and master plans
* Managing project development according to plans and targets
* Developing resource and procurement plans
* Leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams
* Monitoring performance using KPIs to improve project outcomes
* Managing change control processes
* Budget development and cost control
* Managing project communication with clients and stakeholders
* Risk identification, monitoring, and mitigation planning
* Preparing project progress reports
* Interfacing with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout project stages
* Advising on Health & Safety and Environmental issues
* Managing quality, safety, health, and environmental considerations
Qualifications & KPIs
* Successful project management delivering quality, on-time, within budget
* Effective leadership of project teams and client relationships
* Business development and cross-selling opportunities
* Monitoring financial status of projects
* Possession of NEC (3/4) accreditation preferred
* Chartered status with ICE, APM, RICS, or similar preferred
* Degree in a construction-related field preferred
