Role:

Residential Childcare Tutor

Salary: From £28,000 – £32,000 per annum DOE

Located: Homebased within the North of England must be prepared to travel to visit learners

Hours: Monday to Friday

Our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic tutor/IQA to join their team and make an impact on the growth of Residential Childcare in South Yorkshire.

The role will include the delivery of Residential Childcare qualifications to individual learners and facilitating distance learning using our on-line portal. Delivery may include Functional Skills sessions covering Maths and English.

Main duties and responsibilities:

13. To deliver teaching and learning on a range of programmes, with mixed ability learners, from entry level through to Level 5 where required.
14. To deliver programmes in a timely manner ensuring high levels of learner satisfaction, retention, and success.
15. To promote the upskilling of maths, English and digital skills with all learners ensuring they are reaching their full potential.
16. To keep records, monitor and track learners progress so that management information and statistical data fulfil the requirements of the organisation’s quality assurance and information systems, whilst maintaining a clear audit trail.
17. To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments and assessments as required and to assess learners work in line with organisational and awarding body requirements
18. To ensure on and off the job training is monitored and recorded demonstrating learner progress.
19. Regularly review learner progress with learners and employers (where appropriate) at least every 10-12 weeks
20. To assist n fulfilling its safeguarding responsibilities by protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who engage with us
21. To actively promote the Prevent Duty and British values to develop learners understanding
22. To attend standardisation meetings regularly and act on IQA feedback in a timely manner
23. To participate in the organisation’s Observation of teaching, learning and assessment and appraisal processes
24. To contribute to the preparation for external quality assurance and inspections
25. To undertake administrative duties as required by the organisation
26. To contribute to recruitment of, and provide information, advice, and guidance for learners.
27. Provide robust developmental feedback to learners to help them with their next steps in their career, learning or future aspirations
28. To actively promote the company’s course curriculum offer, enhancing learners’ skills and preparing them for future success in their next steps
29. To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation as described in the company’s Health and Safety policy documents.
30. To carry out Health & Safety pre vetting reports / updates on employer premises
31. Ensure all relevant KPI measures as agreed with the Learning & Development Team Manager are met
32. Attend performance review meetings with the Learning & Development Team Manager
33. To ensure that you stay up to date with relevant legislation including health & Safety, safeguarding, equality & diversity, prevent duty & British values etc

The successful candidate:

34. A passion for implementing, enthusing and developing learner’s Residential Childcare skills
35. A recognised Teaching Qualification e.g. PTLLS, Certificate in Education
36. A recognised Assessor Qualification e.g. D32/33, A1, CAVA
37. Functional Skills in Maths, English, and ICT at level 2 or equivalent
38. Previous experience delivering Residential Childcare courses
39. Proven track record in achieving maximum results through effective learner delivery
40. Experience supporting learners aged 16+ with positive outcomes
41. Excellent time management skills
42. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
43. Excellent all-round IT Skills
44. Vocational experience and up to date knowledge and CPD within the sector
45. Full UK Driving license and use of own vehicle
46. Desirable – a recognised IQA Qualification e.g. D34, V1 or willing to work towards
