Senior Support Worker, Ty Bronllys, Brecon. £12.50 to £13.50 dependent on experience. 40.25 hours a week
Orbis Education and Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Support worker to join our compassionate and energetic team at our Ty Bronllys Home, and we want you to be part of our mission. About our home Ty Bronllys: Ty Bronllys is nestled in beautifully scenic Brecon beacons National Park and offers a charming rural setting, beautiful landscapes and historic attractions. Our residents at Ty Bronllys like to take regular walks and hikes in the surrounding areas, visiting the local village and venturing into the rolling hills, lush green fields and engaging with the local history, including Bronllys Castle. On other days, they may wish to venture to Merthyr for shopping and swimming, or perhaps a visit to Brecon and take a walk along the river, stopping at a cafe for cake. A typical day will include:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our people, supporting their daily activities, additional needs, and personal development. You will work closely with a magnificent team including therapists and other support workers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
1. Lead and supervise a team of dedicated support workers, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
2. Provide high-quality, person centred care to our residents with autism and other complex needs.
3. Assist in the creating and implementing of personalised care plans to meet individual needs and goals.
4. Encourage independence and life skills development in the residents
5. Promote a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of all of our residents.
6. Liaise with family, guardians and external professionals to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
7. Support the management team in administrative tasks and staff training
Requirements:
8. Previous experience in a support worker role within a care or education setting is absolutely essential.
9. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
10. A passion for working with individuals with complex needs
11. Strong leadership and communication skills.
12. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs and situations
13. A driving license is essential, unfortunately those without a driving license cannot be considered.
