We provide a variety of services from one‑off installations and servicing to capital investment schemes and planned preventative maintenance programmes with an emergency call‑out service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
The Domestic Gas Engineer is responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and breakdown of domestic heating systems, as well as project work on new builds, commercial sites, etc. The role involves travelling throughout north, east and west London, maintaining, fault diagnosing and repairing domestic boilers and appliances.
Key Responsibilities
* Repairs on boilers and heating systems (1st and 2nd fix)
* Annual gas safety checks
* Carry out gas works including minor plumbing work
* Small boiler installation and general maintenance of domestic installations
* Conform to relevant technical standards and manufacturer’s instructions to effectively carry out servicing, breakdown, and fault‑finding diagnosis works
* Provide a professional service and represent the company to ensure customer satisfaction
* Ensure inspections are recorded and faults reported in strict accordance with company, client and Gas Safe guidelines
* Complete necessary paperwork to a satisfactory standard
* Meet customer and contract expectations by carrying out works timely and to a high standard
* Work in a safe manner, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and GEM’s H&S policy
Qualifications
* MUST hold ACS domestic gas qualifications, including CCN1, CENWAT and CKR1
Experience
* Minimum 5 years (excluding training) of domestic gas installation, servicing, breakdown and repair work
Special Factors
* Be fluent in English
* Possess a clean UK driving licence – the role is mobile
* Candidate must live within commutable distance of the covered areas
* Must undergo an Enhanced DBS check as per GEM’s terms of employment
* Flexible work approach; may be asked to work outside normal hours and participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota
