Quantity Surveyor – Electrical & Instrumentation Projects

A leading engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial management of large-scale industrial projects across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business working on complex E&I schemes within energy, process, and manufacturing environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle of projects — from tendering and cost control through to final account — ensuring that all works are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with project managers to prepare and submit accurate monthly progress applications covering labour, materials, plant, and escalation costs
* Conduct detailed take-offs from construction drawings and maintain rigorous control of variations throughout the project lifecycle
* Provide ongoing cost forecasting, value tracking, and financial reporting to support project and business objectives
* Monitor progress on-site, identify potential risks or delays, and produce cause-and-effect analysis to support claims and project recovery
* Support procurement and subcontractor management processes, including tender evaluation, order placement, and payment certification
* Ensure all commercial activities comply with company procedures and relevant contract terms (NEC, IChemE, etc.)
Key Requirements:
* Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Electrical & Instrumentation or wider M&E contracting industry
* Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract and subcontract (particularly NEC)
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence project outcomes
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management software packages
