Applicants should be able to demonstrate exemplary practice and act as a role model for other staff, acting as an advocate / champion for support all pupils. Excellent communication skills and being able to effectively manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines will be crucial.
Any successful candidate will need to have the Master’s-level National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator or be willing to commit to embark on this training programme and to gain the qualification within 3 years of taking up the post. This training will be funded by the Trust.

SENDCo An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust’s established SEND team as a school SENDCo. Working alongside our team of SENDCos and supporting the Head of Children’s Services we are looking to appoint an SENDCo who is experienced and enthusiastic with a proven track record of delivering high quality interventions to vulnerable students within a primary school setting but with a particular understanding of needs within Early Years.
This is a Trust wide role, where you will be required to working throughout our schools. The Trust is well resourced with a high investment in the learning environment, dedicated libraries, a 1:1 digital device programme, and dedicated learning spaces including TV studios, science and art rooms and outdoor learning and forest school spaces.
Key responsibilities
* Working with children with SEND to ensure these needs are met.
* Working closely with teachers and support staff to provide day to day support for children with SEND.
* To work closely with families to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
* Liaising with other schools, pre-schools, and professionals, ensuring continuity of support and learning.
* Supporting, developing, and leading on school and MAT wide initiatives and projects around SEND.
* Supporting in the training of ECTs and the development of other staff, both in the classroom and through the delivery of professional development opportunities within SEND.
* Supporting the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring a high quality SEND provision.
The position is permanent and full time (5 days a week), 40 weeks (term time, plus one week of staff training days and one week school holiday working). Working hours are generally 8am to 5pm each day although the usual wider responsibilities for teachers apply to this role. The salary for this role is based on the teachers’ main scale plus additional responsibility allowances depending on experience and any SEND qualification.
