Operations Supervisor – Grangemouth
About the role
Responsible for the safe and compliant management of Terminal operational activities, supervising, coaching, developing, and motivating a team of operational and administrative staff. Ensures the execution of short-term operational objectives and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
* Organize, optimize, and coordinate daily operational activities at the Terminal, ensuring risks are controlled.
* Coordinate with Maintenance, Stock Control, Safety, and Compliance teams for efficient operations.
* Communicate with customers to meet operational requirements.
* Document all operational activities and maintain records.
* Liaise with outside agencies on product storage and handling.
* Ensure HMRC operational requirements for stored products are met.
* Maintain minimum levels of operational spares.
* Ensure work meets company standards and procedures.
* Manage staffing within guidelines, ensuring competent personnel are assigned.
* Respond outside normal hours to operational issues.
* Develop, implement, and review operating procedures.
* Implement site safety rules, MAPP, and regulations.
* Act as Site Main Controller in emergencies.
* Familiarize with the ‘Site Emergency Plan’ and activation procedures.
* Implement the ADR security plan effectively.
About You
Candidates should have a good education in Maths, English, and Science, relevant professional qualifications (degree or ILM), NEBOSH or equivalent, and knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in high-hazard settings. Must be self-motivated, possess good interpersonal skills, and have excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. Proficiency in IT and software systems, with experience in bulk liquid warehousing, is required.
