Lead Pharmacy Technician - Nottinghamshire

To be based across HMP Nottingham, HMP Lowdham Grange and HMP Ranby and Hybrid. Must be able to travel independently to other bases in the SSCDP across the East Midlands and East of England.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Lead Pharmacy Technician to provide professional and operational leadership across the Nottinghamshire cluster of secure services. Covering HMP Nottingham, HMP Ranby and HMP Lowdham Grange, this role is central to ensuring the delivery of safe, legal and high‑quality pharmaceutical services.
You will provide specialist technical expertise in medicines management, controlled drugs governance and clinical governance, working closely with senior managers, clinicians and external partners to ensure compliance with legislation, CQC standards and best practice.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of safe, legal and high‑quality pharmacy services across the Nottinghamshire cluster
* Provide specialist technical leadership in medicines management and controlled drugs governance
* Support and manage Senior Pharmacy Technicians and local pharmacy teams
* Develop, implement and review medicines management policies, SOPs and processes
* Deliver training and expert advice to healthcare teams and senior stakeholders
* Represent pharmacy services at local, regional and national forums
* Contribute to service development, audit and continuous quality improvement

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services / BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
* Significant experience in medicines management and controlled drugs governance
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* Experience working with clinical systems such as SystmOne
* Experience working in secure or custodial healthcare settings
* Post‑qualification experience with significant years experience
