Project Manager - Data Migration Job Description:
* The project manager role requires leading complex data migration programs, specifically transitioning legacy insurance and warranty data to modern platforms.
* Ability to handle / negotiate with customers and/or senior Account personnel. Excellent Documentation, Presentation and communication skills demonstrated in a work environment.
Core Responsibilities
* End-to-End Migration Delivery: Own all phases of the migration lifecycle, including planning, data profiling, cleansing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), testing, and final cutover execution .
* Migration Strategy & Governance: Develop detailed migration roadmaps and RAID logs, ensuring all activities align with broader program milestones and governance standards .
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams (architects, engineers), business owners (underwriting, claims), and third-party vendors.
* Data Quality & Validation: Oversee data mapping and validation processes to ensure high integrity, accuracy, and financial reconciliation for insurance books of business.
* Risk & Compliance Oversight: Ensure migrations adhere to GDPR and FCA/PRA regulatory requirements, maintaining a complete audit trail for sensitive policy and customer data.
* Team Leadership: Direct and motivate cross-functional teams of data analysts, developers, and testers to ensure maximum performance and on-time delivery .
Required Experience & Skills
* Industry Expertise: Minimum 7+ years of project management experience, ideally within the insurance or warranty sectors, handling complex policy administration systems.
* Large-Scale Migrations: Proven track record of leading significant data transitions, such as legacy-to-cloud (Azure/AWS) .
* Technical Fluency: Understanding of database structures, SQL queries, and the integration challenges inherent in complex insurance data landscapes.
* Project Methodologies: Deep knowledge of PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile frameworks, with experience in managing multi-track project performance databases.
* Soft Skills: Excellent documentation, presentation, and negotiation skills, demonstrated by the ability to manage senior account personnel and client expectations.
