4-Month Contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
* To lead and manage the statutory assessment and planning processes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring timely and effective delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The EHCP Coordinator will work collaboratively with families, professionals, and service providers to improve outcomes and promote person-centred, strengths-based approaches.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Lead and manage the statutory EHCP assessment and review processes as part of a team of coordinators
* Work in direct partnership with children, young people, parents/carers, education providers, and practitioners to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
* Promote and facilitate strengths-based, person-centred approaches in all aspects of EHCP development and review
* Support quality assurance processes and contribute to evidence-based decision-making for consistency and accountability
* Draft and maintain high-quality EHCPs that reflect the needs, aspirations, and outcomes for children and young people
Essential Experience Required
* Proven experience working within SEND services or a related field
* Strong understanding of the statutory EHCP process and relevant legislation
* Experience drafting EHCPs and managing complex casework
Essential Qualification Required
* Relevant qualification in education, social care, or a related discipline
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Must be fluent in English (as required under Part 7 of the Immigration Act for customer-facing roles)
* Enhanced DBS clearance (required)
