A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Potters Bar is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The Role: You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to support pupils with behavioural challenges on a 1:1 or small group basis. This role is pivotal in helping students engage positively with learning and school life. Key Responsibilities: Supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs Implementing behaviour support strategies under the guidance of the SENCo Assisting in classroom activities and maintaining a safe, positive environment Building trusting relationships with students and staff Contributing to individual support plans and feedback reports Ideal Candidate: Experience supporting children with SEND and/or behavioural difficulties Calm, empathetic and consistent in approach Able to use initiative and adapt to the needs of the pupils A team player with strong communication skills Available to start immediately Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary until July (potential to become permanent in September) Hours: Mornings only preferred (some flexibility possible) Location: Mainstream Primary School, Potters Bar Pay: Competitive, based on experience While the school's preference is for mornings only, there may be some flexibility in hours for the right candidate.
