Vacancy Description
This is a mechanical engineering apprenticeship combining on-the-job training at our Robertsbridge site with off-the-job learning one day per week (term-time only) at Hastings College.
You’ll work alongside qualified tradespeople to develop hands-on mechanical skills and gain deep insight into the equipment and systems that keep our production running. As your training progresses, so will your responsibilities - and your potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the site's safety programme and working to Saint-Gobain’s zero-injury vision
* Attending off-the-job training and completing assessments to meet apprenticeship milestones
* Learning about and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
* Dismantling, assembling, and repairing mechanical components and equipment
* Supporting the plant’s preventative maintenance strategy
* Accurately completing documentation and entering data into our maintenance system
* Taking part in trials and continuous improvement activities
* Bringing new ideas to help improve our processes and reduce downtime
