Performing Arts is a vital and popular faculty within our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead the whole faculty, overseeing Dance, Drama, and Music while maintaining a direct teaching responsibility for Music. This is an exciting new role designed for a visionary leader to work with an already inspirational team at a pivotal stage in our academy’s journey.
Our students achieve well at Key Stage 4, and the arts provide an excellent pathway for onward progression to college, university, or professional apprenticeships. We are looking for a leader who can build a vibrant and inclusive programme that encourages creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for performance in all our pupils.
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with the interpersonal skills to lead and inspire both students and staff. We welcome applications from ambitious teachers ready for their first leadership step, as well as experienced Heads of Department looking for a new challenge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: Lead, motivate, and shape the direction of the Performing Arts faculty across the school.
2. Excellence in Teaching: Drive high standards of teaching and learning across Drama, Dance, and Music.
3. Music Specialism: Deliver high-quality Music lessons at KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
4. Curriculum Development: Help build a creative curriculum that ensures students make excellent progress and develop a love for the arts.
5. Whole school performance: Bring the faculty together to jointly deliver a big annual whole performance utilising Music, Drama and Dance.
