Manager – Children’s Residential Home
(The home has a maximum of 3 children in their care)
£50,000 – £55,000 + performance bonus
Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic children’s residential home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and staff performance. You will create a stable, trauma-informed environment that supports children and young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the home through Ofsted registration and maintain compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Manage and develop staff, including recruitment, supervision, rotas, and performance management.
* Deliver high-quality, child-centred and trauma-informed care.
* Take lead responsibility for safeguarding, risk management, and incident response.
* Oversee care planning, admissions, placement stability, and positive outcomes for children.
* Build strong relationships with social workers, families, schools, and external professionals.
* Manage budgets, staffing costs, and operational performance.
* Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
Essential Requirements
* Experience in children’s residential care and leadership/management.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted requirements, and Children’s Homes Regulations.
* Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care practices.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
Desirable
* Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager.
* Experience opening or registering a new home.
* Experience supporting children with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
