Clare Hall, a College for advanced study in the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join our small and friendly maintenance team. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will help to ensure the highest possible standard of maintenance is provided throughout the College buildings and remote properties. We are the smallest of the Cambridge Colleges, and our buildings are all relatively modern.
The working hours will generally be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm.Some overtime and occasional weekend working may be required. Participation in the on-call rota is desired (remunerated separately).
This post would suit a pro-active professional with a strong work ethic; additionally, you will be reliable, trustworthy and have a flexible approach. The post holder will need to have practical knowledge and skills in most aspects of maintenance along with good organisational abilities. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the need to drive the College van to properties away from the main site. Experience in a commercial boiler house and knowledge of BMS systems (Trend and Priva) and a qualification in City and Guilds level 3 in Heating and Ventilation, or equivalent, is a distinct advantage.
Staff are paid according to the Clare Hall pay scale. Your initial salary will be set depending on your experience; progression within the salary band is discretionary.
