We are seeking a confident Primary Teacher with strong behaviour management skills to join a lovely local Primary school in the Coventry area.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident fully qualified Teacher to join a friendly and vibrant Primary school in the Coventry area.
Responsibilities include:
Planning:
- Full planning responsibilities to achieve progression in pupils’ learning, tailoring tasks to a range of learning abilities and needs
- Identify clear objectives and content, appropriate to the subject matter and curriculum
- Set tasks for the whole class, individual and group work; including homework
- Ensure high levels of pupil interest through challenging and interesting lessons
- Plan and deliver lessons in line with school policy
- Set clear targets and objectives in line with pupil progress and previous attainment
Classroom:
- Follow school policies and procedures to maintain high standards of behaviour to ensure high levels of learning
- Set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining good levels of discipline
- Maintain the classroom to include engaging and stimulating displays
- Set clear targets for pupil learning with a base level of understanding as to the purpose of tasks and activities
- Identify pupils with additional needs and make reasonable adjustments where necessary
- Create a supportive school environment in which children feel confident and excited about their education
- Understand and implement Safeguarding and welfare practices and procedures to ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff
Assessment:
- Provide clear and consistent feedback to Senior Leadership: pupil progression, behaviour, classroom development, targeted pupil feedback
- Communicate with parents/ carers to ensure consistency
- Monitor, assess and feed back progress where necessary and expected
- Mark and monitor classwork and homework, providing constructive feedback
- Assess and record children’s progress, through observation, discussion, marking and testing
- Plan regular assessments across the curriculum to aid with informed feedback
Environment:
- Establish effective professional working relationships with all members of staff and parents/ carers
- Set positive examples to pupils
- Make a conscious effort to understand and uphold school policies and practices, undertaking training offered
- Be enthusiastic about additional activities outside of the classroom and school involvement; drama productions, sports days, parents’ evenings
