Job Description:
The role of Estimator sits within the preconstruction estimating team, helping to bid and win projects to deliver.
This role is responsible for securing new business for ODInteriors by providing detailed and thorough responses to tender information.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Improving tender processes
* Preparing for client meetings, workshops, and interviews at various stages of the tender process
* Providing financial estimates for projects up to £50 million using all procurement routes
* Developing conceptual budgets from client briefs and drawings
* Identifying risks and opportunities within tenders and projects
* Developing contract sum analyses from budgets through competitive tendering
* Analyzing enquiries and providing detailed financial estimates
* Using ODGroup standard formats and software like Bidwork, Evaluate, and Stratosphere for estimates and reports
* Understanding two-stage, lump sum, and design & build procurement routes
* Reviewing subcontractor and supplier tenders and quality responses
* Preparing estimate reports with costs, contingencies, and timescales
* Supporting the estimating team post-tender to meet deadlines
* Managing relationships with subcontractors and supply chain
* Ensuring smooth handover from estimating to commercial teams
* Collaborating with bid and marketing teams on documents and collateral
* Monitoring competitors and market activities impacting tenders
* Tracking win rates and feedback to improve offerings and pricing
* Providing ad hoc support to the estimating team when needed
