Trainee Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks & Civils - Essex
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 + travel expenses and pension
O'Neill and Brennan are currently working with a major groundwork and civils contractor who are experiencing significant growth, particularly within their Essex division. Due to continued success in the region, they are seeking to hire a Trainee/Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their Chelmsford-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either studying, has completed a degree in surveying, or has gained some hands‑on experience and is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and fast‑growing business.
You will gain excellent exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying within the groundworks and civils sector and will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced commercial professionals who will actively support your development.
Role Overview
* Title: Trainee Quantity Surveyor
* Project: Groundworks & Civils
* Location: Chelmsford (Essex Division)
* Rate: £25,000 – £30,000 + business travel + pension
* Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
* Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
* Assisting Senior Surveyors with managing lower value packages
* Supporting the commercial team in the successful delivery of projects
* Gaining exposure to all aspects of groundworks and civils surveying
Requirements
* Studying or degree educated in Quantity Surveying or with some hands‑on experience in a similar role
* Able and willing to commute to Chelmsford and project sites as required
* Strong desire to learn and develop within a growing business
