A leading international energy business is seeking an experienced corporate lawyer to join its London-based legal team as Senior Legal Counsel.
This is an excellent opportunity to move into a highly visible, business-facing role within a growing international organisation, working directly with senior leadership on strategic transactions and corporate matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Group General Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the company's continued growth and international operations.
The position offers exposure to a broad range of legal matters, including:
* Advising on corporate transactions, restructurings and strategic projects;
* Supporting M&A activity across multiple jurisdictions;
* Providing legal support on commercial projects and joint venture arrangements;
* Advising on corporate governance and group legal matters;
* Assisting with financing transactions, disputes and arbitration matters as required;
* Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice;
* Managing relationships with external counsel and other professional advisers.
The successful candidate will:
* Be a UK-qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE;
* Have strong corporate and transactional experience gained in private practice and/or in-house;
* Possess experience advising on M&A transactions and corporate projects;
* Have exposure to commercial projects and joint venture arrangements;
* Demonstrate excellent commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills;
* Be proactive, adaptable and capable of operating independently;
* Thrive in a fast-paced, international business environment.
Prior experience within the energy, infrastructure or natural resources sectors would be advantageous, although candidates from broader corporate backgrounds will also be considered.
