Responsibilities
* Implement a positive and proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture within the team.
* Be commercially and operationally responsible for the successful delivery of the Technical Services elements of the Irvine GSK contract.
* Provide the client GSK Irvine with professional, comprehensive, engineering excellence across the contract portfolio, with regards to reactive and planned maintenance.
* Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers including sub-contractors to ensure services are delivered professionally, timely and cost effectively.
* Manage and lead the site team to ensure proficient service delivery at all times.
* Fully understand GSK’s expectations and be conversant with contract and specification documents, KPI’s and ensure services are organised to meet those expectations.
* Act as the main point of contact for the customer, developing working relationships to understand business needs and requirements.
* Coordinate MITIE activities on the contract, ensuring the site team and subcontractors are managed and service levels meet CI’s, KPI’s and PI’s.
* Support the Site Lead with day-to-day operations, deputising in their absence.
* Manage the calibration team and related personnel.
* Support stock management and ordering processes for Mitie-related goods, materials and consumables.
* Analyze delivery performance and contribute to reducing operational, financial and commercial risk.
* Collaborate with the GSK customer on all aspects of service delivery for maintenance and calibrations teams.
* Develop a professional and effective operational team with objectives, appraisals and personal development plans; establish succession planning for key roles.
* Build positive relationships with GSK and continuously seek ways to improve service delivery.
* Ensure contractual CI’s, KPI’s and PI’s are met and communicate management information/reporting as required.
* Monitor and control supplier, sub-contractor and labour costs; pursue energy-saving initiatives to support carbon reduction.
* Lead by example on health and safety, compliance with statutory and contractual requirements; maintain QHSE standards.
* Complete work documentation accurately and on time; comply with Mitie and GSK policies and procedures.
* Attend and participate in training, appraisals and toolbox talks; deliver HSE briefings as required.
* Understand site escalation and Business Continuity procedures; participate in site audits as scheduled.
* Communicate with client/line manager in a timely manner; respond promptly to requests and maintain proactive service delivery.
* Provide accurate reports where applicable and deliver best practices across the team.
What we are looking for
* Holds relevant professional, technical or management qualifications, and/or has relevant experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and safe working practices.
* Ability to represent MITIE professionally at internal and external meetings; able to lead, motivate and manage a team.
* Willingness to learn new skills; strong customer service and communication skills; good written, numeric and verbal skills; organized and methodical with the ability to multi-task.
* Approachable team player able to work on own initiative; high self-motivation, technical inquisitiveness and commitment.
* Experience in a similar role/industry; experience in a CMMS (MERPS & SAP) is essential; strong general IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Knowledge of Health & Safety supported by IOSH/NEBOSH or willingness to undertake.
* Solid background in commercial building maintenance; people management training or willingness to undertake.
* Experience in similar roles in engineering teams is desirable.
